The Caux Conference Centre
Looking out over Lake Geneva from an altitude of 1000 metres, the Caux centre can accommodate up to 400 people. Formerly the Caux-Palace Hotel, in 1946 it became an international meeting place, thanks to the generous contributions in time, talent and money of many volunteers.
Conference in community
A much appreciated characteristic of the Caux conferences is the communal life of the assembly. Participants are invited to join small groups of between 12 and 20 people which are both interactive discussion groups and teams which participate in the practical tasks of the house (helping to lay, cook or clear one meal per day). This offers an extra dimension to the interaction between participants.
All discussions and lectures of the conferences will be translated simultaneously (English, German, French). Simultaneous translations into other languages will be provided according to the needs of the audience.
The teams coordinating the conferences are all aware of the likely dates for Ramadan this year. Caux has a team helping coordinate meals to accommodate the needs of Muslim participants observing Ramadan.
Caux’s beautiful situation above the Lake of Geneva offers an ideal environment for reflection. The conference schedule allows time for individual activities, reflection and outdoor exercise. In Summer: tennis, volley, table tennis, hiking and sightseeing. In Winter: sledging. ice skating and walking.
Bedrooms can be reached directly by phone; there is no radio or TV. The public parts of the building and a computer room are equipped with Wifi and available for a small fee.
